NHA chief for comprehensive policy to improve traffic system

ISLAMABAD: The National Highway Authority Chairman on Sunday said the country needed a comprehensive policy to improve transportation and regularisation of traffic system.
He was addressing the concluding session of four-day seminar on "Traffic Engineering in the Highway Sector" held in the auditorium of the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) here.
Chairman Viqarul Haq Khan said the Nust was established in 1991. It's is a unique institution having included the subject of transport engineering in faculties.
This has not only enabled the students but also general public and private sector in solving the traffic engineering problems in the country.
He said transportation engineering is an effective linkage between various communities, trade partners, industrial towns and cities.
Air Commodore Mushtaq Ahmed of the NUST gave a detailed description about the curriculum and research programme of the university. He said the Nust will continue its efforts to further develop traffic engineering programme.
Later, the NHA Chairman distributed awards among the students.
