Notification on IT, Telecom Div likely after Eid-ul-Azha

ISLAMABAD: The notification about the setting up of the Information Technology and Telecommunication Division under the Ministry of Science and Technology may be issued after Eid-ul-Azha, sources said here on Saturday.

They said the summary containing amendment in the rules of business regarding establishment of the division under the Ministry of Science and Technology has been sent to the President for approval by the Cabinet Division.

According to the sources, with the turn of 21st century, IT is fast becoming a reality.

The Chief Executive had made the announcement of setting up of a IT division, but amendments in rules of business were required to shift telecommunications from the Ministry of Communications.
