tax system

KARACHI: Mohammed Umer Sailya, the Chairman, of the All Pakistan Organisation of Small and Traders and Cottage Industries (APOSTCI), has stressed the need for introducing one-window tax system in Pakistan to reduce the discretionary power of the bureaucracy and streamline the tax collecting system.
Addressing a meeting of small traders representatives who came here from all over the country, he said that the corrupt bureaucracy had caused a loss of Rs 14 billion to the country by creating hurdles in imposing development tax in the current financial year.
He said that due to poor policies of CBR the army had to curtail its budget by Rs 7 million.
The meeting passed a resolution unanimously that traders would take part in elections at district level every constituency of the country.
