Japanese envoy meets Shaukat

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz has appreciated Japanese contribution to Pakistan's economic growth, poverty reduction and the development of industrial base in the country.

He said this in a meeting with the Japanese Ambassador Minoru Kubota, who paid a farewell call on him here on Friday.

Shaukat thanked him for his personal efforts in ensuring the rescheduling of $800 million Japanese loan to Pakistan.

They also discussed the positive role played by the Japanese companies in promoting investment and expressed the hope to further increase the economic collaboration both at the government and corporate level.

The minister also conveyed good wishes on behalf of the Government of Pakistan for the ambassador's personal efforts in promoting bilateral relations between the two countries. APP
