FAISALABAD: District and Sessions Judge Malik Mohammad Afzal paid a surprise visit to local courts and checked the attendance of additional session and district judges, civil judges and judicial magistrates here on Friday.

During the visit, the district and sessions judge found late arrival of seven judicial officers to their respective courts. He warned the judicial officers to observe punctuality otherwise they would face disciplinary action.

The judge also take a round of all the courts. This was the first time in the judicial history that the attendance of the judicial officers was checked.

The Chief Justices Committee comprising chief justice of Pakistan and chief justices of all the provincial high courts had asked the district and session judges to check the attendance of the judicial officers, speedy disposal of the cases and elimination of corruption from the subordinate courts.

District and Session Judge, Malik Mohammad Afzal during his visit also asked the judicial officers to ensure the clearance of all the pending cases of widows, orphans and other small disputes within a month as directed by the Chief Justices Committee otherwise, they would be held responsible.
