China signs accord with Thailand

BEIJING: China on Friday signed a trade agreement with Thailand, removing another barrier to Beijing's 14-year bid for membership of the World Trade Organisation (WTO). Chinese Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Shi Guangsheng and visiting Thai Deputy Prime Minister Supechai Panitchpakdi signed the agreement. "Today marks an important occasion for both China and Thailand," Supachai told reporters after the ceremony.ÑAFP
