Sindh Governor Azim Daudpota has expressed grief over the assassination of Iqbal Raad, advocate, and two others, and said the incident "deserves every condemnation".

In a statement, the Governor described the killings as an act of anti-state elements and said the objective was only to disturb peaceful conditions and bring bad name to Pakistan.

He said the government has been taking all possible steps to check acts of terrorism and the same would be made more effective.

The Governor directed the concerned agencies to spare no efforts in arresting the culprits and to bring them to book.

Expressing sympathies with the bereaved families of the deceased, the Governor announced compensation for the heirs of deceased peon Ghulam Rasool.

Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Abbas Sarfraz, has condemned the assassination of Iqbal Raad, advocate, a leading defence counsel of the deposed prime minister, Nawaz Sharif.

Talking with newsmen after press conference to announce the decision of the Cabinet about housing projects, the minister did not rule out the possibility of involvement of foreign hand in the murder of Iqbal Raad.ÑAPP/PPI
