KARACHI: Intel's Director, South Asia, Avtar Saini on Friday briefed the media men about Intel's successes in the information technology.

He said Intel has 84 percent market share in personal computers.

Intel is up against 3com, Nortel, and Cisco in home and small-business networking. As it pushes into broadband modems, it crosses Alcatel, Motorola and others.

Avtar also referred to the Intel's products line-up that included Ethernet hubs, small networking switches, and routes. It recently rolled out a line of specialised servers that manage Web traffic and speed up-e-commerce.

Intel has unveiled plans to co-develop a digital signal processor with Analog devices. This could help it to gain ground in markets such as cell phones and consumer electronics.
