Cotton policy on 21st

ISLAMABAD: The announcement of Cotton Policy for fiscal 2000-2001 is most likely to be delayed for another week to March 21, official sources said on Thursday.

These sources said the Cotton Policy was still in its final 'consultative' process making impossible its announcement by March 15 as scheduled earlier.

The Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock (MINFAL), and the Commerce Ministry have yet to receive recommendations from their attached departments namely Agricultural Prices Commission (APCOM) and Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) respectively.

Officials said the announcement of the policy could now reasonably be expected some time after Eidul Azha.-Fortuna
