Citizens assured

protection to

donate hides

and skins

KARACHI: The citizens would be provided all protection to donate hides and skins of sacrificial animals at their own will on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

This was decided at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Shafiqur Rehman Paracha on Wednesday.

It was decided that strict action will be taken against those who may try to forcibly obtain hides and skin or attempt to snatch them.

Shafiq hoped that representatives of various religious and social organisations and deeni madaris, present at the meeting, would bound their volunteers not to coerce or force any one for getting hides and skins.

The meeting decided that no permission will be granted for establishing camps for collection of hides and skins or using loud speakers for the purpose in any of the five districts.

It was decided that anyone wishing to make such collection, will have to obtain prior permission from the administration and will have to fulfil certain legal formalities.

According to another decision protective arrangements will be made for safe shifting of hides and skins. Anyone violating the law will be dealt with strictly.

The meeting was attended by DIG Javed Iqbal, Deputy Commissioners and SSPs of the five districts.ÑAPP
