GOC seeks ghost employees' list in Malaria control programme

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad GOC Maj. Gen. Khalid Munir has instructed the Sindh Malaria Control director to identify ghost employees in Control programme so that necessary action could be taken against them.

Residing over a meeting at his office here on Monday where a presentation was also made with regard to malaria control programme in Sindh by its Director Dr. Qadir Bux Memon, the GOC said that all ghost employees should be thrown out to make the programme a success and added that he would talk to concerned authorities of provincial Health Department for reappropriation of establishment budget.

A sum of Rs 60.778 million is earmarked for Malaria Control Programme, 1999-2000 budget for establishment charges under the non-development expenditure.

The GOC on this occasion said that anti-malaria programme campaign would soon be undertaken here for which he constituted a 5-member committee to meet and chalk out campaign programme modalities.

He also directed the HMC administrator and other Corporation officials to ensure that stagnant water and garbage were removed immediately.

Breeding places of mosquitos should be sprayed. He also said only through coordinating efforts of the army and the civil administration as well as the HMC this action plan should be undertaken here and added that there would be no financial constraints in its implementation.

He called upon the people to realise their civic responsibilities and not to throw garbage on roads and streets.

Earlier, the malaria control programme director in his presentation informed the participants about the malaria control programme, administrative structure and its budget position.

The presentation was attended among others by Brig. Shakeel Ahmed, Col. Allah Bux Rang, col. Tafzil, Health DG Dr. Ishaque Memon, HMC administrator Shams Jaffrani.
