District food controller suspended

KARACHI: The Sindh Food Department has placed the services of district food controller (BPS-16 plus special pay) Ghotki, Qutubuddin Taibani under suspension initially for a period of three months on a report of misappropriation.

A handout issued on Friday said that the official will be proceeded against under the relevant provisions of the Sindh Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rule, 1973 on a report dated December 22, 1999 from deputy director food, Sukkur, regarding shortage/misappropriation of wheat stocks amounting Rs 6,344,243 at P.R. Centre Ghotki and Mirpur Mathelo.

The departmental enquiry, already ordered, is being conducted by Vigilance Officer Food Allah Warrayo Malah.

Anti-corruption Establishment is also being approached to register a case against the centre incharges of the P.R centres. APP
