Bar councils condemn murder of Justice Marri

LAHORE: The office bearers of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA), and Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) have expressed shock and grief over the murder of Justice Mohammad Nawaz Marri of Balochistan High Court.

In a condolence message, President Lahore High Court Bar Association, Ali Javed Jillani, Members Executive Council Pakistan Bar Council Hamid Khan and former Vice Chairman Pakistan Bar Council A Karim Malik and Rana Ijaz Ahmed Khan, members Punjab Bar Council Hafiz Abdur Rehman Ansari, and Shahid Mehmood Bhatti and members of the Lahore High Court Bar Association Jehangir Ashraf Vaince and Syed Manzoor Ali Gillani have prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul.

They said that such events are a direct attack on the judiciary. They said that due to such events the judges of the higher courts would feel the sense of insecurity and they would not be able to do justice with the cases pending before them.

They said that the government must take necessary steps for the security of the judges of the higher courts and demanded of the government to arrest the murderer of Justice Marri immediately and punish them under the law.
