MULTAN: A total of 440 prisoners were released from New Central and district jails of Multan on Friday, official sources said.

Eighty one prisoners were released by the sessions Judge, Multan, on personal sureties, 42 were bailed out by other courts, while other prisoners were released following grant of the six-month remission in their sentences by the Chief Executive of Pakistan. About 800 prisoners of the two jails have benefited from this concession.

However to concession was given to anti-state elements, terrorists, dacoits and rapists.
