LDA disposes of

4,500 complaints

thru one-window

operation

LAHORE: The one-window operation launched in town planning, land development and estate management departments of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has resulted in disposing of 4,500 public complaints during the last one-and-a-half month.

The 80 percent of these complaints were disposed of within the stipulated period of one week. While those whose applications could not be disposed of were being informed in writing about the difficulties in redressing their grivances, an spokesman said on Wednesday.

He said that 6,000 applications were submitted before the authority since the initiation of one-window operation with a purpose to dis-associate direct dealing between public and LDA staff.

These complaints were mostly related to the building maps, letter of possession and extension in construction period, etc, he said.

Performance is becoming better with the passage of time, the spokesman claimed adding that red tapism and corruption is being controlled.

Discipline and presence of staff during the office hours is being strictly monitored, that has resulted in prompt disposing of public complaints, he added.

He said that army monitoring team is supervising the performance of these departments and strict action is being taken against those employees who are not fulfilling their responsibilities.ÑAPP
