KARACHI: An "Iftar-dinner" will be hosted for about 500 children in juvenile prison here besides women prisoners by human rights' lawyer Nadeem Shaikh on January 7.

Lawyer Shaikh's Justice Club said in a statement on Tuesday that Deputy Commissioner South Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, the chief guest at the "Iftar-dinner", will also distribute "Eid gifts" among the imprisoned children.

In tandem with the authorities' gesture on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr 37 prisoners charged with minor offences were already released from District Jail Malir on Monday on orders of Shoaib Siddiqui.

The freed prisoners were provided free legal assistance by Nadeem Shaikh advocate, the statement said.ÑAPP
