Fog continues
to affect life
in Punjab towns
ISLAMABAD: Heavy fog continued to disturb daily life activities in the plains of Punjab for the fifth consecutive day, by dropping the day's temperatures to uncomfortably low levels.
In Faisalabad, the day temperature was only 9 centigrade (C) followed by Sialkot 10 C, Lahore 12 C, Jhelum 12 C, and Sargodha 14 C, just to mention a few.
Murree's day temperature was also 14 C on Wednesday, where the mercury plunges below freezing point (-4 C) at night.
The divisions of Lahore, Faisalabad, Jhelum, Sialkot, Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Jhang, Bahawalpur remained covered under thick fog on Wednesday, the Met Office said and forecast that the foggy conditons will continue in Punjab for at least three more days.
The travellers across Punjab are facing great difficulties, as the rail and road traffic has slowed down, while a number of domestic and international flights were either delayed or cancelled.
Wapda officials have blamed the prevalent thick fog for affecting the electricity supply. There have been frequent power failure owing to moist atmosphere in the last four days.ÑAPP
