Fire destroys shops in Murree

ISLAMABAD: A fire destroyed shops and houses at the Mall of Murree on Tuesday night, and was controlled after four hours of firefighting efforts.

The fire reduced about 10 fashionable shops and some basement houses, all wooden structures, to ashes, causing losses running into millions.

The local administration and Police of Murree were still uncertain about the exact cause of the blaze which started at around 6 p.m. and raged through till just after 10 p.m.

The Murree Police said that there were no casualties from the inferno as residents, shoppers and tourists all moved to safety. APP
