'Female prisoners to get technical trainings'

LAHORE: Female prisoners will be provided opportunities of getting different types of technical trainings so that they could earn money to finance themselves during the period of imprisonment.

This was stated by Punjab Minister for Social Welfare and Women Development Shaheen Atiq-ur-Rehman during her visit to Kot Lakhpat Jail on Tuesday.

The minister assured her cooperation to the members of the Prisoners Welfare Society in solving their problems like repair of roads in the jail and provisions of a lady doctor for women prisoners as well as different types of training, enabling them to earn their livelihood.

She also distributed Eid gifts among the prisoners.
