Excise officers asked to root out drug trading
KARACHI: The Sindh Secretary of Excise and Taxation, Muhammad Salim Khan, on Tuesday directed the officers of the department to take immediate action against those who are running narcotics dens in their respective areas.
Presiding over a meeting of officers of the department here the Excise Secretary asked the officers to take every possible step to root out the narcotics trading from the province.
He also took serious notice of the news regarding drugs trade in Karachi.
Salim Khan said these drug traders are enemy of the country and nation, who are playing with the lives of the youth by making them addict of drugs.
He said a big responsibility lies on the officials of Excise Department to curb this menace from the city.
He warned the officers that if he received any information regarding running of a drugs den in any part of the city, he would take strict action against the responsible officers.
The meeting also reviewed the performance of various sections of the department and decided to overcome staff shortage problem. APP
