Concern over police harassment of Pakhtoons

HYDERABAD: Awami National Party (ANP) has expressed grave concern over the harassment of Pakhtoon community in Khairpur district by police.

In a joint statement issued here on Tuesday the central vice president of the party, Aurangzeb Khan, provincial president, Khamoos Gul Khattak, deputy general secretary, Sultan Khan Mandokhel and other leaders said that a reign of terror had been unleased against the Pakhtoons of the entire district of Khairpur taking them to be Afghan nationals.

They said they the Pakhtoons were being implicated in false cases and then released on payment of heavy bribe.

The ANP leaders demanded of the Sindh governor and senior officers of Sindh police to order an inquiry into the matter and punish the delinquent officers.
