Bus plunges into canal, 6 killed, 20 hurt
HYDERABAD: Six persons including a woman and a girl drowned while 20 others received injuries when a passenger bus plunged into Naseer Canal near Mehran Sugar Mills on Tando Adam-Tando Allahyar Road on Tuesday.
According to Edhi Centre sources, the speeding bus No. P-0448 was coming from Tando Adam, when it reached near Mehran Sugar Mills its driver lost-control as a result of which the bus skidded into Naseer Canal flowing along the road.
The people of the area and Edhi volunteers rushed to the spot and started rescue work. Divers fished out the bodies of six passengers and 20 other injured persons.
Four of the deceased persons were identified as Jamir Hoath Khan, 46, Ram-Ji, 60, Farhana Manthar, 18 and Shahnaz Sawan, 7.
Edhi ambulances brought the injured persons, Wali, Zubaida, Sahib, Sher Mohammad, Rahib, Kashal, Zahid, Beena, Hashim, Abdul Jabbar, Ilyas, Jamil, Waheed Ali, Nasir Hussain, Bano, Manzoor, Sawan and three other unknown persons to LMC Hospital city branch and Taluka Hospital Tando Allahyar. APP
