Indian firing along LoC: plea to
construct concrete wall
RAWALAKOT: Villagers settled along the Line of Control in Poonch sector of Azad Kashmir have asked the authorities to construct concrete walls in front of their schools to protect innocent children from indiscriminate Indian shelling.
The residents of the area made this request to AJK senior officials who toured the area as special representatives of the AJK premier to acquainty himself with the problems being faced by the people in the bordering areas.
People in Tetrinote, Madarpur, Sehsar and Donga Gheer villages complained of sporadic firing by Indian troops which caused loss of lives and severe damage to their property and cattle heads.
Pleading for immediate redressal of their grievances, the local people said they have been playing the role of Pakistani soldiers in the area and will not be frightened or demoralised because of the Indian tactics.
The officials, Deputy Commissioner Ch Munir Hussain and SSP Mohammad Yasin Qureshi said they would submit a comprehensive report to AJK Prime Minister Barrister Sultan Mahmood about Indian atrocities and related problems being faced by the people.
Paying tributes to the local people for their valour and dedication, the district administration officials said they have been dauntlessly facing the outrageous Indian designs to declare this area as a no-man-land.
The officials assured the people that their local problems would be resolved at the earliest and they would regularly be visiting the area to monitor the development schemes.ÑAPP
