Contempt plea

KARACHI: Syed Iqbal Haider of Muslim Welfare Movement (MWM) has filed a contempt of court application on Monday before Justice Shabbir Ahmed, Administrative Judge of Anti-Terrorism Court (ATCs) in October 12 plan hijacking case.

The MWM chairman, moving the application under Section 37 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATC), requested the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against Justice Naseem Hasan Shah (Retd), and editor, printer and publisher of daily "The Nation".

The applicant maintains that Justice Shah (Retd) in an interview to a news agency carried by the newspaper has commented about the plane hijacking case which amounts to contempt of court.

He also prayed the court to also restrain the alleged contemnors from issuing/publishing any such statements or interviews regarding the case.ÑAPP
