Air Commodore Raza promoted as air vice marshal

KARACHI: Air Commodore Syed Javed Raza has been promoted to the ran of air vice marshal according to a notification by the Ministry of Defence.

This was stated in a press release faxed by the Directorate of Public Relations, Pakistan Air Force, here on Monday.

It said that Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Syed Javed Raza was commissioned in the PAF after completion of his degree in aerospace engineering from College of Aeronautical Engineering on October 20, 1971.

Commencing his career as an aeronautical engineer, he has served as an engineering officer in Flying Squadrons, an Engineering Depot, Associate Professor at the College of Aeronautical Engineering and Production Division of Ministry of Defence.

During his career he has undergone several courses pertaining to various weapons including F-86, F-6, Mirage and F-16. He has completed his MS in aeronautical engineering from the USA as a distinguished graduate.

AVM Raza has held various key field and staff appointments including the command of an engineering wing at a major fighter air base. His last assignment was managing director of Aircraft Manufacturing Factory at Pakistani Aeronautical Complex, Kamra.

He takes over as the Director of Precision Engineering Complex at Karachi from January 3, 2000, it was further stated. APP
