Govt trying to eliminate terrorism, says Azim

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Air Marshal Azim Daudpota (Retd) has said that the government would take every possible measures for the elimination of terrorism and that with the cooperation of the people the nefarious designs of terrorists would be frustrated.

In a statement here on Saturday, he said that it is the utmost priority as well as the responsibility of the government to maintain the law and order and protect the lives and property of the people.

He said that the saboteurs and the agents of anti-state forces would be pursued and would be brought to justice.

He stated that the police and the administration have already been given necessary instructions and they would have to discharge their responsibilities diligently.

The governor said that in case of dereliction of duty, disciplinary action would be taken against the concerned officials.

He also appealed to the people to fully cooperate with the administration for curbing the anti-social elements and their activities.

He said that one should remain careful from those elements who use the acts of violence and terrorism to further their interests and form them as the basis of dis-information and impute allegations against the government and its officials just to try to create frustration among the people.

He stated that such dastardly acts and activities cannot weaken the government nor mislead the people. APP
