CE asked to raise Indian aggression issue at UN Council

From a correspondent

Muzaffarabad: The Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jummu and Kashmir (AJK) Chief Abdul Rasheed Turabi on Saturday asked Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf to raise the issue of escalated Indian aggression and its war threat at the United Nations Security Council.

He also demanded the ouster of AJK prime minister Sultan Mehmood and formation of a set-up under APHC influence.

He was addressing a news conference here at the JI central office after his return from the one month visit of Saudi Arabia and Arab Emirates.

He said that for this purpose AJK Jammat-e-Islami was obtaining the signature on petition from the people and after the completion of signature campaign it would be presented to Chief Executive of Pakistan General Pervez Musharraf.

Turabi said after the military takeover in Pakistan, Pakistani High Commissions in various countries have become active in projection of Kashmir issue and they were distributing literature on Kashmir. He termed it a positive change which credit goes to military government.

He believed that now the Arab countries have become better aware of Indian sinister designs and India-Israel nexus.

To a question, he said, Pakistan should not sign CTBT because it would affect Pakistan's nuclear programme.

To another question, he said that formation of a national government in AJK is so far a hypothesis however he proposed that in case its forms it should comprise parliamentary and of those parties which have a role in on-going Kashmir liberation movement.

About JI's Ehtesab Movement in AJK, he said as no proof of corruption of politicians and bureaucrats had been given to Jamaat's Ehtesab cell, no corruption case could be submitted before the courts.
