CAA service rules okayed
KARACHI: The Civil Aviation Authority Board has finally approved the CAA Service regulations, lifting the pall of gloom and uncertainty that had been hanging over its 8,500 employees since almost a decade, APP reliably learnt.
With a Service Regulations of its own, the employees outstanding demands for better working environment and attractive service conditions have been fulfilled.
With the implementation of the new Service Regulations, the regular CAA employees will have a proper career progression with ample opportunities for promotion as none of the promotion posts can then be filled by direct induction from the outside.
Moreover, the CAA will have its own promotion committee enabling the deserving workers to grow with the organisation. This will result in marked improvement in the efficiency of CAA workers, the official pointed out.
All those employees whose increments were frozen on reaching the ceiling in their respective scales since years together, will automatically move over to the next scale. This will enable them to get annual increment resulting in substantial increase in their salary. This is being termed as a major achievement of the CAA management.
On the other hand the most pressing demand for the CAA employees to provide medical cover to the parents depending on them has been fulfilled.
Since the lower staff and the middle management will be the main beneficiary of these incentives and advantages, it is being viewed as a major breakthrough, specially in the light of the recent decision to curb the ancilliary benefits of the top CAA management. APP
