Daudpota asks police

to contain terrorism

or face action

RECORDER REPORT

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Azeem Daudpota said on Saturday civil administration and the police had been told to control spread of terrorism and other crimes in the province or face disciplinary action.

In a statement' Daudpota said the government would do every thing possible to control terrorism and other crimes in the province but would need cooperation of the people to reach grassroots of the criminals' dens.

He said let there be no doubt about the seriousness of the government which keeps crime control on its list of priorities.

The governor said the government would chase the criminals and agents of the anti-Pakistan forces to the end. "To provide peace and to normalize law and order in the province is the prime responsibility of the government."

He said forces against the government were using terrorism as a tool to destabilize the country and to create chaotic conditions to keep the law and order situation fluid.

He said the government would not tolerate any act of lawlessness and terrorism and would not allow anti-state forces to spread despondency among the masses.

Daudpota said if the anti-Pakistan forces were under the impression that through acts of terrorism they would be able to weaken the government, "let them be very clear that they would not succeed in their nefarious designs."

Earlier, police sources said a large number of suspects had been picked up from the Sohrab Goth area and from around the Afghan settlement for interrogation in the bomb blast incident of January 28.
