Sindh DCs directed to hold open kutcheries

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Secretary Muhammad Zubair Kidwai has issued instructions to all deputy commissioners in the province for holding open kutcheries to entertain public complaints in their districts.

The chief secretary was presiding at a meeting "to review progress/implementation on the reports of monitoring committee pertaining to department/agencies responsible for providing and maintaining basic infrastructure", at his office on Sunday.

The district officers of various agencies responsible for providing civic facilities have also been issued directives for their presence in the said Katcheries so that the problems related to civic facilities should be dealt with immediately.

It was also decided that the respective divisional commissioners will personally supervise the performance of the deputy commissioners.

It was also decided at the meeting to direct the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation "District Municipal Corporation" Union councils and others to formulate an action plan with immediate solution of basic problems on war footing.

It was also brought to the notice of the meeting that there was a lack of Coordination among various civic agencies, particularly in road cutting and repair.

It was decided that every organisation responsible for providing civic facilities should consult the committee already constituted under commissioner, Karachi, for the very purpose before carving out any development work. APP
