HYDERABAD: The Tajran-e-Maweshi Welfare Association, Sindh has severely criticised the overcharging and violation of schedule by contractors in the cattle markets of Sindh.

In a joint statement issued here on Sunday, Association office-bearers Baloch Khan Lashari, Mohammad Sharif Qureshi and Saeed Ahmed said that the overcharging frequently led to clashes between the cattle merchants and the henchmen of the contractors.

They said that the high-handedness of the contractors would increase the price of cattle before Eid-ul-Azha and added that this would also bring bad name to the government.

They appealed to the secretary, Local Government, Sindh, all the directors of local councils and the monitoring cells to pay surprise visits to the cattle markets and cancel the contracts of those who were indulging in over charging.
