H'abad SSP's actions lead to departmental discipline
HYDERABAD: The punitive action being taken by Senior Superintendent of Police Mohammed Ramzan Channa through weekly performance review, from constable to inspector level, has forced the policemen to discharge their duties carefully, honestly and dedicatedly.
A spokesman said on Sunday that though the check and balance system existed in the department, however, in past no SSP had taken any drastic disciplinary action, except transfers of policemen found guilty of high handedness.
He said the SSP Ramzan Channa had restored the process of "Weekly Orderly Room" and for last 48 days 147 police personnel of the district including 10 inspectors, and 56 sub-inspectors, 39 assistant sub-inspectors, 5 head constables and 17 constables awarded departmental punishment of different types such as dismissal or relinquishment of services, demotion, stoppage of increments and warning.
These punishments were awarded on finding the policemen guilty of charges including highhandedness, illegal confinement, negligence of duties and taking bribe from the people, he added. APP
