Fog blankets most parts of Punjab, life disrupted
ISLAMABAD: Thick fog blanketed most parts of Punjab on Sunday disrupting daily life activities, while the two-month-long dry spell is forecast to break in upper regions of the country within seven days.
The visibility in most parts of the Punjab reduced considerably owing to the dense fog shrounding Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Jhang and Sheikhupura, the Met Office said.
A number of PIA flights were delayed as the fog only cleared by mid-day, a PIA spokesman confirmed.
"The foggy conditions will continue for three to four days in Punjab," meteorologists believe and keep the day temperatures lower by two to three centigrade.
Meanwhile, most parts of Kashmir, Punjab and NWFP are expected to receive the much-awaited rain. A rainy system is approaching Pakistan from the west and is expected to bring showers over Pakistan around Eid days, Pakistan Met Director Anjum Bari said.
The region has experienced one of the longest dry spells, resulting in various respiratory and infectious diseases. Prayers for rains have been offered across the country for the Allah's blessing.
