Crackdown against
building rules
violators soon
ISLAMABAD: The CDA chairman has directed its Building Control Section to formulate a strategy to launch crackdown against building rules violators, encroachments and use of residential property for commercial purposes in Islamabad.
The section has already completed survey of all sectors and identified building rules violators. Sources said residential property which was turned into 'commercial' will be checked first.
He said various people turned their residential property into beauty parlor, shops, shopping centres, schools, nursing homes, clinics, property dealers centres and guest houses.
He said in the first phase, violators will be fined and asked to remove encroachments and rectify their violations failing which their property allotment will be cancelled.
In the second phase, the building control section will check rules violations committed in commercial areas in different markets.
He said some commercial property owners constructed additional building storeys in Super, Jinnah Markets, in Blue Area and F-10 Markaz.
He said the conversion of residential street into shopping centres at Peshawar Mor will also be checked according to the rules and the violators will be taken to task.
Sources said some owners of buildings in Blue Area, F-10, Aabpara, Peshawar Mor had encroached their limits which is against the law and encourages others to construct illegal buildings and structures wherever they want.
He said action against the law-breakers will be across the board. He said the CDA will check 100 residential houses which were turned into guest houses in different posh sectors.ÑAPP
