Action on 80 complaints against LBs initiated

KARACHI: The Complaints Cell setup in the office of Deputy Commissioner South, initiated action on 80 complaints during one month of its establishment and the citizens were provided relief against the defective performance of local bodies.

The public grievances were redressed in respect of hygienic and sanitation, water supply and sewerage, installation of street lights and their maintenance.

Deputy Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has made SDM Clifton Iqbal Ahmed Soomro as incharge of the Cell and is personally monitoring its performance right from receipt of complaints till their disposal.

Siddiqui has directed that people must get benefits from the Complaint Cell. The magistrates have been directed to call the concerned departments and complainants to their office and get the problem solved in minimum possible time.

The Deputy Commissioner South said that implementation of Sindh Government's directive for improved working of municipal councils and immediate redressal of public complaints about civic problems is being ensured with the provision of due powers to complaint cell and by doing away with the delaying tactics in the solution to outlying problems.

The Cell continue to work from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. during Ramazan and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. thereafter to receive public complaints. APP
