KDA, MDA, LDA directed

to maintain liaison

KARACHI: Provincial Secretary, Housing and Town Planning (HTP), Anzar Hussain Zaidi on Friday directed the KDA, LDA and MDA to maintain better liaison with each other to ensure coordinated development of the city.

He directed the three development authorities to settle issues concerning financial resources, staff and land with mutual coordination and meetings.

He issued the directive while presiding over a high level meeting of Karachi, Malir and Lyari Development authorities.

At the meeting a committee comprising Directors Finance of the three development authorities and headed by Additional Secretary Housing and Town Planning was constituted to sort out their issues concerning distribution of finances.

The transfer of staff of MDA and LDA from KDA vis-a-vis the availability of buildings and furniture required for them also came under discussion. The three authorities were directed to submit lists of their respective staff to the office of Secretary Housing.

Anzar Zaidi issued directive to DG KDA for start of preliminary work on Sharea Faisal flyover.

Directive was also issued to DG LDA to contact the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner to sort out matters relating to LDA's land, the acquisition of land and sale of plots after completion of development works through ballot or auction.

The meeting reviewed the performance of complaints cells of the three authorities and emphasis was laid on their further improvement. They were directed to ensure on time payment of their respective utility bills.

The meeting was attended by DG KDA Allah Rakha Aasi, Additional Secretary Housing Lal Din Kashmiri, DG LDA Gul Mohammed Umrani, Secretary MDA Riaz Memon and Project Director MDA Amanullah Chachar.ÑAPP
