Kaiser to take

over as SBFC chief

KARACHI: A financial expert and employee of International Finance Corporation (IFC), Kaiser Naseem will soon be appointed as chief of the Small Business Finance Corporation (SBFC), banking sources said here on Friday.

Naseem is currently employed with the IFC with a responsibility for small and medium size financing activities in Central Asia.

Sources said the decision about the appointment has been taken by the government in line with the policy of restructuring of financial sector and to appoint experienced professionals in top slots.

They said the government had already mentioned support to small and medium enterprises as one of its key priorities to help in the revival of the ailing economy and creating employment opportunities in the country.

This sector has traditionally been neglected by the financial institutions. With the help of this appointment, the SBFC is expected to become the main financial institution to provide assistance to this sector.ÑAPP
