35 wheat bags recovered

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Police arrested one Haji Kalloo, his son Sabir Shah and a companion Mulazim Hussain after recovering 35 wheat bags from their possession. The wheat was being smuggled from Punjab to the NWFP through Bashinda bank of river Indus. Karor Lal Eisan police have registered the case.ÑAPP

Patwaris warned in offices

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Incharge district monitoring cell DG Khan has directed all patwaris to remain present in the tehsil office invariably from 1st to 4th of every month to correct revenue record and redress public complaints. He said some patwaris had not attended office since the last one and half years, and warned that if such negligence continued, the absentee staff would be brought to book.ÑAPP

Lecture on "E-revolution and Internet"

KARACHI: Sindh Madressahtul Islam is arranging a lecture on "E-Revolution and Internet" on saturday at 11.00 a.m. in the auditorium of Madressahtul Islam, says a press release. Dr. Javaid R. Leghari, the Project Director of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science Technology (Szabist) will deliver the lecture on the subject. Teacher crushed to death

FAISALABAD: Mohammad Idrees, a college teacher of Govt. Commerce College was crushed to death by a speedy loaded truck on West Canal Road near Rafhan Mills here on Thursday night. He was heading towards Tariqabad on his motorcycle when a speedy loaded truck crushed him and turned-turtle on the adjoining service road. The driver of the truck managed flee away from the scene.
