F'abad traffic improvement plan

FAISALABAD: Faisalabad traffic police, has chalked out a comprehensive one-way traffic system to ensure smooth flow of traffic on selected congested roads from February, 01, 2000. According to the plan, two separate roads are available on both sides of the Rajbah Sarwala. The traffic from Jhal Khanuaana Railway Phatak (Gate) to Babar Cinema will use the western while the traffic from Babar Cinema Chowk towards Railway Phatak Jhal Khanuaana will use the road of the eastern side of the canal. The road from Ghumti to Chiniot Bazar Chowk, from Karkhana Bazar Chowk to Ghumti and from Lady Bagh Chowk up to Ghumti will also be used for one way traffic.

This plan will be implemented purely on experimental basis to streamline the traffic system. Meanwhile addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Tahir Alam DSP Traffic said that most of the businessmen of the downtown area have assured full co-operation for the implementation of the one-way traffic plan, as it will ensure smooth flow of traffic by discouraging rampant traffic jams on these roads particularly during peak business hours.
