Arrangements underway to observe Kashmir Day

KARACHI: ELaborate arrangements are being made to observe "Kashmir Day" in Sindh on February 5, in a vigorous manner so as to demonstrate complete solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir and their cause of liberation from Indian subjugation.

The day will start here, as elsewhere in the country, with offering of special prayers in the morning for Kashmiri martyrs and success of freedom struggle.

The day-long activities include ralies and walks by citizens, students, scouts in all the districts throughout Sindh. The main rallies and walks will be held at the provincial and divisional headquarters.

On the occasion banners, posters, stickers inscribed with solidarity slogans will be displayed.

Sindh Governor will preside over a seminar to be organised to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir. The speakers would include eminent Kashmiri scholars and journalists.

Torch-bearing processions will be taken out in all districts to highlight the issue of Kashmir.

At the divisional and district levels, inter-school and collegiate debates will be held on the topic of "Indian State Terrorism in Indian-Held Kashmir and the Right of Self-Determination."

Photograph exhibitions on the struggle of Kashmiris for attainment of the right of self-determination would be organised at the Arts Council of Pakistan besides publication of articles in newspapers on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day.ÑAPP
