Pakistan 2000

KARACHI: Intechmart Pakistan 2000, an international investment promotion and technology transfer event, is scheduled to take place in Lahore from 15 to 17 February 2000, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) sources said on Thursday.

FPCCI Secretary General Anwarul Haque said the objectives of the "intechmart Pakistan 2000" will be to attract foreign investors, technology supplies and technology seekers in Pakistan.

The United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (Unido) and its partner organisaitons i.e. the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Board of Investment (BoI), the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and the FPCCI are jointly holding the event.

The programme will include business meetings between foreign and local potential business partners, exhibits on Pakistan and Pakistan products, a serious of training seminars, workshops and panel discussions between the private sector, the government, foreign investors and donor agencies.

About 110 to 120 attractive and viable industrial partnership opportunities from Pakistan, secreened and selected for promotion by Unido will be on display. Foreign companies/investors from North America, Europe, the Middle East, East Asia and Australia are expected to participate and hold pre-arranged one-to-one meetings with the sponsors of the selected Pakistani projects.
