KARACHI: A World Bank financial sector assessment mission reviewed the United Bank's performance, growth and contribution to the country's economy.

The mission recently visited the UBL. The basic objective of the mission is to assess the financial sector of Pakistan, which includes the State Bank of Pakistan, commercial banks and non-banking financial institutions.

The evaluation will cover institutional issues, financial markets, legal and regulatory frameworks. The mission included Joseph Permia, team leader; Mudassar Khan, co-team leader; Gabriella Ferenez and Juan Costain.

In a briefing the mission was appraised of the Bank's performance in all sectors.

In a discussion with the UBL's President, Zubyr Soomro, the mission expressed its satisfaction over UBL's growth and was encouraged by the reforms implemented by the bank.
