Iranian envoy calls on JJ

ISLAMABAD: The Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Syed Serajuddin Mousavi, called on Javed Jabbar, Adviser to the Chief Executive on National Affairs, Information and Media Development, here on Tuesday.

Bilateral relations between the two countries came under discussion during the meeting.

The ambassador informed the adviser that recent visit of Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf to Iran has further strengthened the existing brotherly relations and brought both countries closer in multi-dimensional areas of bilateral cooperation.

Javed Jabbar dilated upon the possibilities of further cooperation in areas including energy, trade and rice exports to Iran. He noted that both the countries share rich religious values, historical and cultural traditions. He said that Pakistan and Iran have sustained their strong relations through every test and turmoil.

The ambassador said the Islamic Revolution has put his country on a path which is leading towards prosperity of the common people to meet the challenges of the new century.

It was mutually decided to explore concrete steps to enhance cooperation between the two countries. APP
