Guwar prices up on grain markets

KARACHI: Guwar rose substantially on the seed and grain markets where widespread variations were marked on Monday.

On the cereals side masoor Australia and Canada was quoted down at Rs 2,350, Urad Burma rose by Rs 60 to be quoted higher at Rs 1,050. Wheat was on the higher side to gain Rs 5 to Rs 950 and Rs 960.

Guwar inferior type rose by Rs 54 to Rs 1,902 and superior type was up by Rs 85 to Rs 1,920.

On the gram side, garda shed Rs 35 to Rs 2,030 and better type lost Rs 30 to Rs 2,070, yellow peas rose by Rs 25 to Rs 1,265 and better type rose by Rs 25 to Rs 1,265 and better type rose by Rs 55 to Rs 2,070, dal yellow peas up by Rs 100 to Rs 1,425 and better type up by same amount to Rs 1,450, beetle I lost Rs 45 to Rs 2,120 and better type lost Rs 25 to Rs 2,175. Fifty fifty dropped Rs 50 to Rs 2,050 and better type Rs 40 to Rs 2,085.

Irri & Sindh new rose by Rs 25 to Rs 1,000 and better type up by Rs 75 to Rs 1,075, basmati new up by Rs 25 to Rs 1,925 and better type up by same amount to Rs 1,975, super basmati old dropped both type Rs 100 to Rs 2,400 to 2,600 and super basmati new rose by Rs 100 to Rs 2,200 but better type was quoted at Rs 2,250.

Sugar white inferior was up by Rs 1,790 while better type gained Rs 10 to Rs 1,800, gur inferior by Rs 50 to Rs 1,300 and Rs 1,800 and Khandsari better type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 2,000 and inferior stayed put at Rs 1,500.
