ADB team meets Wapda chairman

LAHORE: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) mission, headed by the Head of Pakistan Energy Sector Operations, Energy Division (West), Sadiq H. Zaidi, visited Wapda House on Monday and held a meeting with Water and Power Development Authority Chairman Lt Gen. Zulfiqar Ali Khan and other Wapda officials.

A Wapda press release said that the two sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest pertaining to the progress made by Wapda towards the financial health of the Authority, the power sector restructuring during the last one year under the present management as well as present and future funding requirements for Wapda's projects.

Wapda's Member Finance and Secretary, Pepco, gave an overview of the developments that have taken place with regard to their respective wings. The mission was also informed that construction work at Ghazi Barotha and Chashma Hydero-power projects was progressing satisfactorily.

It was appreciated that the efforts being made by Wapda to further improve the performance were in line with the mutually agreed matrix.
