Milam gives
seven computers
to Sindh police
RECORDER REPORT
KARACHI: US Ambassador in Pakistan William B. Milam on Monday gave seven computers to Sindh police.
Milam, accompanied by US Consul General John Bennett, visited the Central Police Office and at a simple ceremony handed over the computers to the Inspector General Police, Sindh, Aftab Nabi. Later, Milam and Nabi exchanged views on matters of mutual interest.
Nabi briefed the ambassador on measures which were being taken for the welfare of the Sindh Police. He said a plan had been drawn to computerize the police department but the paucity of funds was a major impediment.
The IGP expressed his gratitude to the US Embassy for donating the computers and said that this would facilitate launch of first phase of computerization in Sindh Police. Milam assured the IGP of his continued support to the Sindh Police.
