KARACHI: The Public Accounts Department of the State Bank of Pakistan has convened a meeting on January 26 to deliberate on the prompt and speedy clearance of cheques same day.

The meeting according to the agenda, will review the progress of the last meeting, and reduce the limit of same day clearing, if decided by the house.

In the last meeting held on October 15, 1999, it was decided to reduce the limit of Rs. 0.5 million after review of progress for more clearance of cheques same day.

The meeting on Wednesday will presided by Liaquat Durrani, Chairman, Clearing House.
