Importance of EM technology highlighted
RECORDER REPORT
LAHORE: Speakers at a seminar on `the miracle of EM technology' organised by EM Pakistan Foundation here on Sunday, called for utilisation of Japanese technology, EM, to increase the productivity of agriculture sector.
They said that EM technology not only increased the productivity of agriculture sector but it was also cheaper and less harmful for human health.
Addressing the seminar, Dr. Zafar Altaf, Federal Secretary for Agriculture, Food and Live Stock said that the implementation EM technology was need of the hour and the government was keen to introduce it in Pakistan. However, the private sector should also come forward and join hands with the government to introduce this Japanese technology across the country.
He said that ironically the agriculture was the more neglected sector in Pakistan and no government had paid due attention towards this vital sector. During the Ayub era the total budget allocation for this sector, which is back bone of country's economy, was about 17 percent, while now it had been reduced to mere 1.7 percent, which was a matter of grave concern.
The federal secretary said that maximum productivity of the agriculture sector has been between the range of 45 to 75 percent over the years and it could be increased now by benefiting from the EM technology.
Dr. Higa, who is the founder of EM technology, while speaking on the occasion said that he had come to Pakistan on the invitation of Chief Executive of Pakistan Gen. Pervez Musharraf. "I have recently held a crucial meeting with the CE and he has supported EM technology and shown keen interest to introduce it all over Pakistan to reap the benefits of this cost-effective technology," he said.
Dr. Higa said he has introduced this technology in Korea, Indonesia and other countries and its results have been very encouraging. The atmosphere and climate of Pakistan was very suitable for EM and it could yield even better results not only in agri sector but also in medical and other fields.
By introducing this environment-friendly technology Pakistan can increase its productivity of food and other crops, he claimed. "EM is safe, low cost, environment-friendly and produces three time better results," he claimed.
Principal of Fatima Jinnah Medical College Dr. Khalida Usmani said she has used EM technology to cure cancer and to her surprise it has produced miraculous results. She said that damage to T-cells in human body causes cancer while EM increases the population of such cells to 200-400 percent. The use of EM can also be helpful in curing diseases other than cancer, she stated.
Col. Jawad, Lawyer S.M. Zafar also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of EM technology.
