9 PTCL (West) staffers suspended

QUETTA: Nine employees of Western Telecommunication Region, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) suspended from service by PTCL general manager Quetta, if found guilty of charges by the departmental inquiry, would be tried by a civil court here. PTCL sources confirmed here on Sunday that these officials had been suspended on the complaint of Army Monitoring Cell.

The suspended officials are telephone supervisors, telephone operators and linemen.

They have been charged with negligence of duty, giving illegal telephone connections and providing free telephone call facilities to their friends and families. The probe into their conduct has been initiated by the GM departmental inquiry body.
