ISLAMABAD: The European Commission has invited entries for the Lorenz Natali Prize for Journalism instituted to honour one of its former vice-presidents.

The prize carries a cash award of Euro: 10,000 (Rs 533,000) and will be given to the authors of two best articles on democracy or human rights as vital aspect of human development.

European Union Ambassador in Pakistan, K Juul said articles should be in one of the official languages of the Union and published between April 1998 and March 1999 in a newspaper or a magazine in a developing nation or Union's member state.

Journalists wishing to participate in the competition should submit their work to the European Commission delegation at Islamabad by April 10, 2000 and in Brussels by April 15, 2000.
